The two new essence solar watches feature a Swiss Ronda 215 solar movement, which offers consistently reliable timekeeping and is powered entirely by light. They skilfully combine the iconic design of the Swiss railway clock with modern technologies and sustainable materials.
TIMELESS AESTHETICS
The distinctive dial and the arrangement of the hands reflect the original design of the clocks, which have been found in approximately 3,000 Swiss SBB railway stations since 1944 and for which MONDAINE has held a worldwide exclusive license since 1986. The minimalist, clear black and white dial ensures excellent legibility and optimal visual orientation.
SUSTAINABLE PROCUREMENT
Renewable raw materials are used predominantly in the case and bracelet of these Swiss-made essence solar watches, and they are produced in the Mondaine factory using solar power. This makes essence watches arguably among the most sustainable watches in the world.
A modern statement
The essence solar is available in two colour versions: with a white case and ivory strap, and in a very classic, minimalist black-on-black version. The essence solar watch models are a modern statement of Swiss innovation and responsibility.

Our watches are manufactured in our own state-of-the-art Swiss factory, where a photovoltaic system covers up to 80 percent of our energy needs. The remaining 20 percent is supplied by a local hydroelectric power plant.
Mondaine as a group, including all its products, has been completely carbon neutral since 2020 by eliminating unavoidable CO2 emissions according to Scope 1, 2 and 3 of the GHG Protocol, making it one of the most sustainable watch companies in the world.
